What is Your Child's Mindset?

Does your child love learning and growing? Do they accept challenges head on and consistently have a can-do attitude? Most of us do, sometimes, but other times we hide away when a chance to grow and change is in front of us--especially when growing is a result of a mistake we made.Basically, there are two types of mindsets--growth or fixed. Check out the link below and consider what influence praising your child for their effort over their performance may have on them. www.mindsetonline.com

Welcome Back!

Welcome to our sixth grade classroom blog. We promise to keep this blog updated weekly and we hope you will make it your priority to come here just as frequently. If at any time there is something you would like added to our blog to make it more useful to you, please just let us know.

So why in the world is this blog called ourthinkingclassroom? Why not just call it Mr.Warren and Mrs. Forman's Class? The title was created because it aligns with our beliefs about teaching. It is our belief that we need to teach your child to think and how to get the most out of their brain. You will notice that theme throughout the year in the way we talk and communicate to you. Sometimes that might include class fitness and teaching your child about how fitness impacts their cognitive abilities, while other times it might include teaching your child what good thinkers do when problem solving. Simply put, we want to make your child a thinker...and a mindful one at that!

Again, welcome to our classroom and blog. Please come back often!
